Agatha Mallow

A songwriter and songstress. As a sophisticated musician, she cannot ever be pigeonholed into any particular genre. Whether you hear her lyrical ballads or dynamic rock songs, her emotional involvement and power of expression sound unchangingly thrilling. All those tracks she performs, i.e. her own tunes as well as a set of carefully selected cover versions, constitute a whole story about the people she has met, the world she has been living in and the feelings she has experienced. And that personal story of hers always remains painfully true and sincere. Without pretending to be anyone or anything else. Agatha’s personality is very distinctive, made of unique sensitivity and gentleness, which can only highlight her kind heart and crystal clear voice.

On a regular basis, she sings her songs during theatrical and cabaret shows at the probably oldest and still active literary vaudeville theatre in the world, called “Piwnica Pod Baranami” (“The Cellar under the Rams”), which is located in Krakow, Poland. It is a legendary place and a legendary community. Among the composers of that cabaret cellar, you can mention names such as Krzysztof Penderecki, Zbigniew Preisner or Zygmunt Konieczny; and some music selections of the last of them three are also part of Agatha’s repertoire. At present, Agatha is performing and collaborating with composer and pianist Tomasz Kmiecik – another great artist of “The Cellar under the Rams”.

Three songs from her full-length album, namely: "Too Long I’ve Been Sleeping", "This Made Me Feel Certain", “The Heart in My Hand” reach the top of The Alternative Charts of Radio Krakow, thanks to the listeners’ votes.

November 2007 saw the release of Agatha’s debut album, and her next release titled “Don’t Let Them Eat You” was out in December 2013.
